Happy Days

Today, after feeling horrible that I couldn't send Mr Agent my first 50 pages, I recieved yet another email from yet another agent. This time, however, it was for my full MS! This agent skipped the partial stage and asked straight for my manuscript! I was so gidddy I danced around in happy circles. He skipped the partial stage, which must mean something, right? But every agent is different, and even if it's nothing out of the ordinary for him, he wants to see my book! It's not a rejection! That'll make me dance around in happy circles anyway!

Needless to say, my friends and family were ecstatic. I remained calm about the entire situation, knowing full well that he could decide he doesn't like my book and move on. But boy-Jesus I can still hope. My mother ran around and told everybody, like I was the up-and-coming new star. Recieving a phone call from her, she sounded ecstatic ("Two agents in two days? That's great honey!") and then proceeded on with her motherly ways ("I want to hire a contract lawyer when this is sent to you, as well as get your book copyrighted before you send it off." "Mom, I'll be fine." "I just don't want you to be screwed over, that's all.") And my friends took me out for icecream, which was nice.

I'm not entirely sure what they'd say if I got a contract from this man, since this is how they're acting now.

Still, it was nice to be fussed over. And I really hope that it goes well. I'll be taking the next few days (And every spare moment of my time) to edit my book one final time, make sure everything's perfect and polished for Mr Second Agent. I spent the latter of the evening pouring over pages I wrote nearly a year ago, laughing at myself and enjoying some good eats and good music.

All in all, today was a productive day. :)

Peace.
